The Feng Shui Concept.

The interior design of a room should be such that it creates a sense of happiness. Considering the amount of time we spend in the bedroom resting and relaxing, it is essential to maximize the Feng Shui and use it to its full potential. Feng Shui is the ancient Chinese practice wherein the energy forces are used to harmonize an individual to its surroundings. There are specific rules in Feng Shui that can make for an ideal layout in a space. Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned professional, the first step before starting with Feng Shui is decluttering a space. Feng Shui also involves clearing the energy of a space.

As far as the specifics of decorating a room with Feng Shui is concerned, some tips can prove helpful.

Feng Shui Decoration Tips

1.    Muted colour palette: Some colours are known to promote more restful sleep and a relaxing vibe. Muted and natural colours like off-white, creams, browns, and pastel shades are great for the bedroom’s Feng Shui. However, stark white should be avoided as it can be too stimulating for the mind. Accent walls are very much in fashion these days, but it is essential to keep the pattern limited and incorporate gentle colours in the design.

2.    Correct layout: A harmonious design is essential for promoting relaxation in the bedroom. The bed is considered the most crucial piece of furniture in the bedroom. According to Feng Shui, it should ideally be placed centrally in a command position, which allows you to access the entryway. Besides, the bed should also always have a soft headboard to provide some support. Cast iron headboards are not considered good in Feng Shui, as they do not promote relaxation. Platform beds are also a great option, but it is vital to remember that the edges are not as sharp.

3.    Pair up furniture and furnishings: The rule of pairs is one of the most important ones in Feng Shui. Keeping everything in teams is good for promoting more harmonious energy in your room. For example, even if the bedroom is for one person, keeping two pillows, two nightlamps, and even two seats is good.

4.    Accessories: The accessories should be such that they evoke all the five senses sight, smell, touch, sound, and taste. To keep the room smelling good, essential oils are a great option. As for the sense of sight, make sure to keep the rules about the colour palette in mind. Opt for softer fabrics like satins, velvets, or Egyptian cotton. A white noise machine can be great for promoting sound sleep.

Besides this, you can do several other things to incorporate Feng Shui in designing your room. For example, you can use adjustable blinds to maximize the airflow and limit electronic devices. Mirrors should also be avoided, and candles or low light bulbs should be used for luminescence. If you keep these few things in mind, you will be able to create more positive energy in your room with Feng Shui.
